Following intensive performances from Mike Parker, Korridor and Fjader, 4DSOUND now prepares for the next in our Techno Is Space residencies, with reknowned Spanish artist and techno veteran Oscar Mulero.
Beginning his fledgling DJ career in mid-late ‘80s Madrid, Mulero became a driving force in the emerging Spanish electronic music scene, building a reputation nationally with a sound built on dark and industrial foundations: Gothic Rock and EBM giving way to hard, acid-tinged techno in the ‘90s. Developing into an increasingly established international name around the turn of the millenium, it could be said that Mulero’s music continued to mature but never mellow, retaining the intensity of his banging ‘90s sets whilst becoming increasingly sophisticated and, in recent years, spacious in its sound design.
It is this balance of intensity and spaciousness that drew us to reach out to Oscar to develop a performance for 4DSOUND: Techno Is Space. A prolific producer with over 40 12’’ releases under his belt, he has also produced three albums, including 2012’s Black Propaganda on his own Warm Up Recordings- a stark, desolate techno excursion triggered by the economic situation in Spain. It is his new album Muscle and Mind on PoleGroup Recordings, however, described in a recent review as ‘an album of dramatic light and shade’ that Oscar will present at Techno Is Space, re-interpreted to take advantage of the expansive spatial capabilities of the 4DSOUND system.
On June 6th at 19:00, this exclusive performance by Mulero will take place in the 4DSOUND Studio at Warehouse Elementenstraat, integrating wearable tactile bass technology from SubPac.
A very limited number of tickets will be made available by invitation only. If you would like to be part of Oscar’s first presentation in 4DSOUND, send us an email explaining why you’d like to attend to firstname.lastname@example.org.
INVITATION ONLY – no tickets in pre-sale, no tickets at the door.
