During Amsterdam Dance Event last month, 4DSOUND hosted a 2-day Spatial Sound Hack Lab at the Compagnietheater, in collaboration with CDM, Ableton, Liine and Fiber.
Sonic artists, composers and musicians were given the opportunity to explore the 4DSOUND system, develop spatial sound tools, work on spatial sound compositions and finally present their work.
Fiber captured the events in a video document, which show the hack teams in action during their creative process – working on DIY controllers, modular synths and creative coding environments in order to explore new sonic modes.
CDM’s Peter Kirn, who hosted the event, goes further in-depth with impressions by the participants and reflections on the emerging discipline of spatial sound.
