4DSOUND invites you to celebrate the start of a new season at the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest with a vernissage on February 18th, 17:00-19:00. We welcome listeners, creators, thinkers, writers and organizers to join us for this opening event where 4DSOUNDs founder Paul Oomen will reveal some of the plans and events for the year ahead.
For this special occasion, we will present a new audiovisual work created by Belgian artist and performer Dieter Vandoren. 'Weaving a light mesh on a shadow loom' takes the location's many apparent and abstracted grids as a framework for entangling spatial media layers. Architectural structure, acoustic field and light projection integrate into one. Sound and visual media combine and collide with the highly characteristic physical structure of the Spatial Sound Institute’s studio space, turning it into a vortex of immersive and penetrant sensations. These ephemeral instants are catalysts for sparking synaesthetic chain reactions, reconfiguring the body’s perception of inner, outer and intra-space.
18 February 2017: starts 5pm - ends 7pm
Free Entry. Guestlist only. if you'd like to attend please confirm your presence by sending an e-mail to RSVP@4DSOUND.NET
